Truck: Colorful Sorting and Recycling Interactive Set

The colorful set centers on a printed mat, a colorful wooden truck, and cards showing photos of waste, designed to teach in a friendly way the correct sorting of waste collected and delivered to local waste collection points according to local sorting and collection rules.

The set uses healthy competition and the desire to show knowledge, in this case about waste sorting, commonly referred to as trash.

The set engages the whole class or group, and with additional elements allows the instructor to quickly and easily check which group best sorted the assigned waste and where groups faced challenges.

Important! It does not matter whether paper is collected together with metals or plastics in your area. The most important is to learn which type of waste made of paper, metals, glass or plastic is subject to sorting and which is not, and then is placed into the non segregated waste container (the so called mixed). In the first instance recycled waste is sorted, therefore it is crucial to sort as much as possible the properly sorted and selected waste.

Set contents:

• Colorful wooden truck with 5 compartments for sorting PAPER, GLASS, METALS AND PLASTIC, MIXED WASTE; truck dimensions: 31 x 12 x 12 cm; driving on the mat road,
• Mat road with waste processing plants and PSZOK (Selective Waste Collection Point) for collecting NON HAZARDOUS WASTE and BULKY WASTE; colorfully made of plastic, washable and rollable for easy storage; mat dimensions: 160 x 33 cm; on the road mat the truck drives and unloads the appropriate waste groups,
• 55 cards with photos of various wastes for learning sorting and placing into appropriate bins or collection points; distributed to participants or groups,
• 5 cards with space for drawing and labeling to place illustrations and names of wastes collected locally for learning sorting and placing into appropriate bins; distributed to participants or groups,
• 75 STICKERS FOR GROUP IDENTIFICATION; colorful with symbols, 15 stickers in each of 5 colors; optional for placing on the back of cards with photos of wastes to divide participants into groups,
• 30 SPECIAL STICKERS with symbols; 15 stickers in two types; optional for placing on the back of cards with photos of wastes to mark rewarded wastes or an additional question,
• Instruction sheet containing rules for proper sorting of specific waste groups.

The display shows the types of wastes and the correct way to sort them. In addition to photos there are tips and rules for sorting (collection) of a given type of waste. For example with paper one rule is not to throw lacquered or foil wrapped paper or wallpaper, and examples of additional information aimed at encouraging correct sorting include that the share of broken glass in glass production can reach 75%, and that wastes from this group plastics are an excellent raw material for manufacturing sports and tourism equipment.
