The puzzle can be assembled on a sturdy cardboard backing (the easier version) with a color-printed 1:1 scale image of the puzzle, or on the bottom of the closed box, whose dimensions match the puzzle (33 x 23 cm).

To make the puzzle not only fun but also educational about waste, the underside of the underlay features a timeline showing wastes that, if not segregated and disposed of into general waste, will decompose over tens, hundreds, and thousands of years. These wastes include car tires, single-use plastic bags, aluminum cans, car bodies, and glass bottles. The images are accompanied by funny captions encouraging waste segregation.
