Healthy Eating Pyramid with Dietary Guidelines - Magnetic Version

Current, large and MAGNETIC version of the Healthy Eating Pyramid, enriched with a set of pictorial dietary guidelines and rating icons. The entire teaching aid consists of 159 magnetic elements, with which we build the Healthy Eating Pyramid—its successive levels and the contents of those levels, and we also discuss and evaluate food groups and methods of preparation. A key advantage of this form of the pyramid is the movable elements that enable discussion and dialogue about healthy eating during its assembly. When assembled, it presents a new version of the Healthy Eating Pyramid and the physical activity pyramid for students, i.e., children and adolescents in school age, together with a series of recommendations for healthy eating. The new version was developed based on the recommendations of the Institute of Food and Nutrition in Warsaw published in 2016 and the latest WHO guidelines (World Health Organization).

An additional, highly enriching element of the set are dietary guidelines (87 items) for discussing the principles of healthy eating and related recommendations. Compared to the Healthy Eating Pyramid and Physical Activity Pyramid, this set contains both foods and dishes that support our health and physical condition, and those that may harm us. To make lessons more engaging, the set has been enriched with familiar child emoticons and arrows labeled more, less and swap. Thus, next to the item representing dark wholegrain bread you can place a label with an upward arrow and the word more; similarly, next to the item representing light processed bread you can place a label with a downward arrow and the word less. If you place these two types of bread side by side, you can add a label with two arrows (one down and one up) and the word swap.

The entire teaching aid is designed to help explain healthy eating recommendations, both in classroom lessons and in educational campaigns promoting healthy eating and nutrition practices. Its structure and composition encourage both individual statements and collective discussion about the foods consumed.

The entire set contains 159 colorful magnetic elements (100 percent magnetic), because they are printed on full magnetic foil (and not attached to fragments of magnetic foil), for display on any magnetic surface (metal, classroom board, etc.). The set elements can be arranged freely on a magnetic classroom board. Everything is clearly visible; the elements are large and clear. Dimensions of sample food images: 10 x 14.3 cm (portions), 9 x 4.7 cm (cucumbers), 8 x 8.5 cm (apples and apple juice). Dimensions of the largest elements for the guidelines (oval): 18.3 x 12.2 cm (2 pcs); 14.5 x 12.5 cm (32 pcs). Diameter of emoticons and arrows: 4.8 cm (there are 50 pcs). Dimensions of the assembled pyramid: 102 x 82.5 cm.

• 10 green smiling emoticons;
• 10 red sad emoticons;
• 10 lilac labels with an upward arrow and the word more;
• 10 purple labels with a downward arrow and the word less;
• 10 labels with two arrows (one down, one up) and the word swap.

All the elements listed above are magnetic. The teaching aid is convenient to use, easy to store, and greatly supports the teaching process. Highly recommended.
