Description
Shell-e Educational Robot: 3D Printing in the Classroom
Shell-e is an educational robot you can print yourself on a 3D printer at school! Importantly, like its more advanced peers JD Humanoid and SIX, a six‑legged educational robot, it includes a camera enabling AI features such as object tracking and recognition. The parts used to assemble the robot contain high‑quality servomotors and the EZ‑B IoTiny controller, to which a speaker is connected — allowing Shell-e to speak to us.
In the set with the robot you will receive a ready‑to‑print 3D model that you can modify according to your imagination or create a completely new robot. This form of work with a 3D printer and robotics encourages teamwork, teaches problem solving, hones technical sense, and above all is great fun.

The robot meets the requirements of the Laboratories of the Future program
and can be purchased as part of additional equipment – an educational robot with accessories programmed at various levels and through support of more than one programming language
(e.g., text-based and block-based)
Shell-e educational robot is programmable in block‑based languages and Scratch, as well as in other popular coding languages (Python, JavaScript). This means that users can program it with custom moves, music or commands. The robot can track objects, recognize speech, and is equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. All of this fits in a simple, friendly and visually appealing design.

Shell-e moves using two wheels powered by a controlled servo motor. Its design guides the user through several educational stages.
- First, it gains knowledge about the construction of robots and the functions of individual mechanisms.
- Next, it creates its own robot project or uses an available print, and with your chosen color prints the individual parts on a 3D printer.
- In the next step, it assembles all parts together and can proceed to calibration. A stable construction enables quick calibration.
- Then, depending on programming knowledge, it chooses on the ARC platform the programming language it wants to learn. The robot itself has ready‑made code allowing movement, use of chosen music, etc.

The set contains:
- Servomotors (2 pcs.)
- EZ-B IoTiny robot controller and connection ports.
- Speaker module
- Camera module with cable
- Network card
- LED indicator cable (2 pcs.)
- Battery panel (6x AA - batteries not included)
- Wheel (2 pcs.)
- ARC software - PC robots are programmed using ARC — a comprehensive and easy‑to‑use robotics software. The intuitive interface allows beginners to achieve quick success, while more experienced users can program advanced AI features, such as speech recognition and visual object tracking. ARC is used to teach robotics to thousands of students worldwide and is an ideal choice for teachers who want to bring a high level of engagement to a wide range of STEM lessons. Minimal operating system requirements: Windows 10, an Intel i5‑equivalent processor, 4 GB RAM.
- ARC mobile app – Control and program your EZ‑Robot from a mobile device, phone or tablet running Android or iOS.
- Introductory material for programming in RoboScratch and Blockly, creating conditional instructions and variables, building loops
- Access to files with robot parts that can be modified and printed on a 3D printer
AI features of the robot: • face detection • color tracking using servos • tracking moving colors • detecting multiple colors • following a line • object recognition • glyphs controlling robot movement • glyph recognition and augmented reality • QR code detection • emotion recognition • speech recognition • movement • built‑in ready‑to‑use programs
