COLORS – a big game encouraging speech in Polish and English

The aim of the game is to encourage participants to speak, form sentences, and learn new words/terms, as well as practice new phrases, tenses, and expressions, etc.—depending on the chosen rules of the game, the age, and the level of the participants.
Colors are common concepts and words known and used by everyone.
In the case of Polish language and players for whom Polish is a native language, the goal of the game is to encourage children to speak Polish in a stress-free way within play. Children focus on the color and constructing a logical sentence using the chosen color, and not on the mere act of public speaking. This encourages speaking, expressing their own opinion (In my opinion this color is suitable for...), cooperation with the group (in the case of team play) and practicing specific concepts "assigned" to players (e.g., color + nature; color + weather; color + clothing; color + food, ...).

In the case of a foreign language and players for whom this language is not their native language (this also applies to foreigners in Poland), the aim of the game is to stress-free encourage players to speak and form sentences in the foreign language within the game and play, which reduces stress, and as is known makes it easier to use the foreign language in utterances. Participants focus on the color and constructing a logical sentence using the chosen color, and less on the mere act of public speaking. Laughter and fun increase motivation, the desire to search for new words (dictionary game) and foster a willingness to compete.

The included instructions contain 3 versions of the game to choose from (each in Polish or English).

COMPONENTS

• Floor mat with dimensions of 150 x 150 cm featuring printed colorful fields and color names in Polish and English (GB). The mat is rollable and washable, made of plastic and is covered with a special laminate – so you can jump and walk on it for years without any loss of quality.
  The mat is large and highly visible to participants, and at the same time it can be rolled up and conveniently stored.
• A standard six-sided die, with pips marked from 1 to 6.
