BOXYlab: Secrets of Nature is a complete, integrated STEAM educational system designed to support modern preschool education through action, experimentation, and hands-on experience. The set combines physical teaching aids, ready-made lesson plans, and digital resources into one cohesive ecosystem for teachers.

The program includes 48 ready-to-use lesson scenarios and enables interdisciplinary activities throughout the entire school year — without the need to create materials from scratch. It has been developed in accordance with the current preschool core curriculum and its future-oriented development framework known as “Compass of Tomorrow,” with particular emphasis on developing future competencies, children’s agency, and learning through experience.

The set consists of 8 complementary boxes, including a central educational mat measuring 184 × 154 cm, made from child-safe materials and printed with certified latex inks (GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold), meeting all required standards and certifications (OEKO-TEX, ISO 14001, REACH, PVC FREE, EN 71-3).

The system also includes reusable thematic overlays and eco-friendly adhesive-free stickers, allowing repeated use of the set across various lesson scenarios.

BOXYlab integrates the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) while incorporating elements of Project-Based Learning (PBL), enabling children to develop logical thinking, creativity, collaboration skills, and cognitive competencies in a natural and engaging way.

The set also includes access to an educational platform with a full range of teaching materials, including lesson plans, worksheets, and interactive resources, creating a complete and ready-to-implement system for preschool settings.

What Does the BOXYlab Set Include?

BOXYlab has been designed as a cohesive system of 8 modules (BOXes) that complement one another functionally and enable the implementation of a full learning cycle — from observation and experimentation, through analysis and reasoning, to construction and creative activities.

BOX 1 – Educational Mat

A central workspace measuring 184 × 154 cm, used for movement-based activities, experiments, mathematical and logical tasks, and spatial orientation activities.

The mat serves as an “educational environment” where lesson scenarios are carried out — both individually and in groups.

Specifications:

• exceptionally durable and resistant to intensive use,

• made from child-safe materials,

• printed with latex inks meeting GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold standards,

• certified: OEKO-TEX, ISO 14001, REACH, PVC FREE, EN 71-3,

• easy to clean and designed for daily institutional use.

The original illustrations were created by illustrators — graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts — experienced in designing educational materials for children.

BOX 2 – Overlays and Stickers

A module extending the functionality of the mat:

• reusable thematic overlays made from the same material as the mat,

• eco-friendly reusable adhesive-free stickers (leave no marks and require no glue).

This module allows dynamic changes of lesson context and work in different educational environments without changing the main workspace.

BOX 3 – Observation and Investigation

A set of tools for scientific exploration:

• specimen collection containers,

• magnifying glasses and tweezers,

• accessories for safe observation of organisms.

Allows children to conduct independent observations, develop curiosity, and learn the basics of scientific inquiry.

BOX 4 – Plant Cultivation

A set for growing plants and conducting long-term observations:

• pots,

• seeds,

• gardening tools and accessories.

Enables children to observe plant growth processes, develop consistency, and build a relationship with nature.

BOX 5 – Experiments

Materials for conducting nature-based experiments:

• materials for experiments aligned with lesson scenarios,

• containers for working with liquids,

• elements for experiments involving water, ice, and other phenomena.

Supports safe experimentation and develops cause-and-effect thinking.

BOX 6 – Mathematics

An extensive set for learning mathematics through action:

• large numbers with special recessed tracing guides for shape formation and spaces for beads for quantity exercises,

• a set of 200 eco-blocks made from recycled materials (100 pieces in 10 colors and 100 pieces in natural colors – brown and beige) for creating patterns, sequences, and learning counting.

All elements are made from recycled materials and are recyclable. These are durable, eco-friendly tools supporting mathematical thinking, logic, and spatial imagination.

BOX 7 – Construction

A module developing engineering and technical competencies:

• specially designed proprietary BOXYlab screws for building cardboard constructions,

• a set of 250 geometric shapes made from recycled material for creating forms and structures,

• proprietary teacher tools (scoring tool and perforator) for preparing cardboard materials for model building,

• ready-made templates and stickers for creating constructions and personalizing the mat.

This module allows children to design their own solutions, build structures, and experiment with form — from simple manual work to more advanced technical-artistic activities.

BOX 8 – Creativity

A set of materials for artistic and project-based activities:

• various art materials,

• decorative elements,

• accessories supporting independent project creation.

Encourages creative expression and combines artistic activities with construction and nature-based tasks.
