Description
Model of the Human Heart Anatomy and Disease-Affected Blood Vessels
As a cautionary teaching aid, this set consists of five models mounted on a base and demonstrates the changes in the structure of the heart and blood vessels that occur as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle.
The main model is a human heart model, disassembled into two parts, larger than life with thickened chamber walls and valves.
The remaining four models depict blood vessels (coronary arteries) in cross-section, illustrating the healthy appearance of these vessels and the progression of arteriosclerosis, i.e., the ongoing hardening of the vessels and narrowing of their lumen.
The model presents disease-related changes in the structure of the heart and vessels due to coronary disease, arteriosclerosis, myocardial infarction, a damaged blocked artery, and hypertrophy of the left ventricle.
The models are made of colorful plastic. Overall dimensions: 42x30x24 cm.
