Student Lung Function Demonstration Model

Educational model illustrating the mechanism of pulmonary respiration in humans. This educational aid consists of a transparent bell jar with two flat balloons suspended inside, shaped to resemble the two lobes of the lungs, attached to a connector in the shape of an inverted Y. The bell jar is fixed to a base with an integrated membrane and a handle.

By pulling and filling the membrane and then releasing it, we demonstrate and explain the mechanics of inhalation and exhalation, as well as the expansion of the chest and lungs as air flows into the lungs.
