A durable floor mat measuring 3.5 m in length and 0.9 m in width presents in a vivid and visual way how quickly, or rather how slowly—up to thousands of years—the decomposition of waste discarded into the environment without sorting occurs, and thus deprived of recycling opportunities. The mat is made of flexible, rollable plastic material with printed pictures of various types of waste and time sequences (weeks, months, decades, centuries, thousands of years), in which these wastes, discarded without sorting, will biodegrade. Some of the pictures include humorous notes about the consequences of not sorting these wastes.

The mat is covered with a special transparent floor laminate highly resistant to wear. This teaching aid can be mounted or laid on the floor or other flat surfaces. It can also be permanently fixed to the floor like a carpet, using double-sided tape for floor coverings. The mat can also be stored rolled up.
