Description
Iron Crystal Structure Model
Model of the iron crystal structure. The atom spheres have a diameter of 50 mm and are made of solid plastic, making it a clearly visible and very durable teaching aid for demonstrations in the classroom. The set allows constructing a model of the allotrope alpha iron (α).
The set consists of 18 elements:
- Iron atoms, 9 pcs, diameter 50 mm
- Connectors, 9 pcs, length 15 mm
Model dimensions: 100 x 100 mm
Worth knowing...
Allotrope form of iron alpha (α) is stable at temperatures below 911 °C and has a body-centered cubic (bcc) lattice of type A2. It is ferromagnetic at temperatures below 768 °C (exhibits spontaneous magnetization). At room temperature, alpha iron (α) is stable and can dissolve up to 0.008% C.
