Atomic Orbitals – 14 Models

The set enables the construction of 14 atomic orbital models visible in the photo (the number of models per type is given in parentheses): 1s, 2s, 2p (3), 3d (5), sp, sp2, sp3. Each model has a transparent base. The heights of the individual orbital models are: s-type – 5 cm, p-type – 9 cm, d-type – 8 cm.

This set of molecular atomic orbitals contains enough parts to construct 14 easy-to-assemble atomic orbitals: s, p, d.

The molecular orbital set includes the following orbitals:

• 1s non-hybridized – 1 piece
• 2s non-hybridized – 1 piece
• 2p non-hybridized – 3 pieces
• 3d non-hybridized – 5 pieces
• a 2s orbital model plus three 2p orbitals – hybridized orbitals
• sp, sp2, sp3 non-hybridized – 3 pieces

Pink and purple pear-shaped plates represent the two wave phases, the positive and negative phases of the p and d atomic orbitals. Nuclei are represented by opaque white spheres. Each molecular model with an atomic orbital has its own colorless, transparent base for display purposes.

Approximately the heights of the atomic orbital model with base are: s-orbital 5 cm, p-orbital 9 cm, d-orbital 8 cm
