Soap Molecule Model: Educational Chemistry Kit

The set allows you to construct a model of a soap molecule. The hydrocarbon chain of this molecule has a zigzag shape. The soap molecule consists of the anion R–COO^-, built from a long tail, i.e., a nonpolar hydrocarbon chain R with hydrophobic character, and the head group – COO^-, with hydrophilic properties.

The model consists of 56 atoms and 35 connectors:

• Carbon atoms, 18 pcs, diameter 23 mm
• Oxygen atoms, 2 pcs, diameter 23 mm
• Hydrogen atoms, 35 pcs, diameter 15 mm
• A metal atom, 1 pc - connectors, 35 pcs.
• Disassembly tool, 1 pc.

The model can be assembled and disassembled (instruction included).

Hydrophobicity is the ability to repel water molecules. It is a property that helps keep surfaces clean and prevents their deterioration.
