Sun Position Determination Aid for Educational Astronomy

This instrument is designed to determine the Sun's position for any date and time and to measure the Sun's altitude and azimuth, featuring a built-in compass and a spirit level. The visible Sun path can also be projected onto a transparent hemisphere to illustrate the Sun's position at any time of the year. The device is oriented toward the south with respect to the Sun, and the Sun's position is traced onto a tracking dome at different times of the day. The sighting mirror is used to draw horizon profiles on the tracking dome. This is an ideal tool for studying the Earth–Sun relationship and for analyzing solar location. The set includes a red erasable pencil for markings on the hemisphere and a cord.
