Formation of Faults, Crust, and Tectonic Rift - Fold-out Model
Product reference: GEO000085
Description
Formation of Faults, Crust, and Tectonic Rift - Fold-out Model
A colorful teaching aid designed to illustrate the process of fault formation (normal, reverse, and strike-slip) and how crustal blocks and tectonic trenches develop.
The model consists of five three-dimensional parts that can be viewed from four sides and from above, made from colored plastic. They present a three-dimensional landscape with longitudinal cross-sections showing clearly distinguished rock layers; each model displays 4 to 5 rock layers differentiated by color.
The top surface of the models shows a landscape in green, yellow, and blue tones representing rivers and tributaries.
The largest model depicts a landscape with faults (four different configurations of rock layers) and a visible crustal block and tectonic trench. The remaining four models form an additional landscape for independent demonstration of different fault types, crust formation, and tectonic trenches. Overall dimensions of the teaching aid: 47 x 25,5 x 15 cm.
