An engaging teaching aid for illustrating the inertia phenomenon. The setup consists of a flexible metal strip and a column on which a plate is mounted, with a ball resting on top. By striking the plate with the elastic strip, the plate is knocked out from under the ball, causing the ball to continue moving momentarily and then settle back onto the column, lying directly on it.
