Interactive Biology Boards
IPP Biology for grades 5-6 consists of 80 boards presented on hundreds of interactive screens, including:
- Illustration displays showing examples of organisms from all kingdoms.
- Interactive resources explaining the structure of organisms and presenting even the most minute components of plants, animals, viruses, fungi and bacteria.
- Simulations developing the skills of conducting experiments and observations by the scientific method.
- Three dimensional graphic illustrations, including representations of medical imaging, the anatomy of the human body and the structure of intracellular components.
- Videos showing animals and plants in their natural habitats, including nature documentaries filmed in habitats of many bird species.
- Micro and macro photography providing the ability to see what cannot be perceived by the naked eye.
- Illustrations reflecting the real appearance.
In the IPP Biology box the teacher will also find full sized educational posters to hang in the classroom!
Biology is not only diagrams and hard to memorize descriptions. It also includes experiments and observations that allow understanding how organisms function, how certain processes unfold, and what influences the course of a given life cycle. Not always at school is there the possibility to empirically illustrate the topic (long term observations, lack of technical capabilities and equipment). The proposed simulations give students the opportunity to participate in the course of experimental observations and facilitate understanding of various interesting phenomena occurring in biological life.
List of curriculum topics developed in IPP Biology: 1. Biology as a science 2. Structure and function of the cell 3. Chemistry of life 4. Bacteria, viruses, protists and fungi 5. Plant kingdom 6. Animal kingdom 7. Human organism 8. Genetics 9. Ecology 10. Environmental protection
