Biodegradation – Experimental Kit for Classroom Biodegradability Experiments

The Biodegradation – Experimental Kit is designed to enable conducting experiments on the biodegradability of various materials. The kit allows free, independent selection of the substrate and materials to test. The kit itself includes samples of various materials (see composition), such as: biodegradable shopping bag, dog waste bag, cellulose film, starch-based filler, container made from wheat bran, strips of various metals. Thus, you can test the biodegradability of materials contained in the kit, as well as materials from our immediate environment, including materials discarded by us or in our area into the waste container.

A distinguishing feature of this kit is its contents – all materials provided in the kit for testing are products that are available and distributed on the Polish market! So we test materials that are available in Poland.

The kit is carefully designed. For example, aware of the limitations of performing experiments outside specialized laboratories, a composter has been included with the kit to accelerate the composting process of waste in containers.

There is also an option to purchase a refill kit containing consumable parts of the kit.

The kit allows practical discussion before or during classes of such concepts as:

• biodegradation, biodegradability, biodegradable material,
• composting, compostable material
• disintegration, decomposition, degradation,
• renewability, recycling, recovery
• biodegradable and bioabsorbable polymers
• ecotoxicity of waste
• and other.

1. Transparent test containers with 2 vent openings – 6 pcs.
2. Stoppers for the ventilation openings of the test container lids – 12 pcs.
3. U-shaped transparent frames for test containers – 6 pcs.
4. Handle for the U-shaped transparent frame – 6 pcs.
5. Clip-holders for the U-shaped transparent frame – 3 pcs.
6. Base stand for the test container – 3 pcs.
7. Mesh cage for the base stand of the test container – 3 pcs.
8. Forceps for transferring samples – 1 pc.
9. Biodegradable shopping bag – 1 pc.
10. Biodegradable dog waste bag – 1 pc.

The last item is a durable plastic carry case with a handle for transporting and placing the kit components; waterproof and convenient.
