Colored Numbers and Fractions with Three Types of Units – Magnetic Demonstration Version

A set of 109 colorful, fully magnetic elements printed on a full sheet of magnetic foil (not mounted on cut fragments of foil) for display on any magnetic surface (metal, classroom board, etc.) of colored numbers or colored fractions.

The core elements are color-coded numbers-fractions in the form of 60 fractions, i.e., 10 magnetic strips (each in a different color) cut into 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 12 parts. One strip remains uncut and represents the whole (1/1).

When used for presenting and teaching fractions, you can display 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, 1/12 and 1 (whole) in fractional, decimal, and percent forms.

Three presentation options are possible thanks to magnetic overlay circles printed with common fractions, decimals and percentages. This enables displaying and comparing parts of a whole in different forms. The overlay units also allow showing 1/2 in different ways—for example, as half of different wholes; e.g., the orange strip will be half of the yellow strip, while the pink strip will be half of the orange strip. The most common fractions are reproduced; for example, the common fraction 1/2 is printed on six circles.

Additionally, a triple white magnetic ruler with sides printed in color-coded fractions and the digit 1, and colored crossbars indicating the boundaries of each fraction strip.

The set can also be used to teach: addition and subtraction • multiplication • division, and to visualize concepts such as: long vs short; longer vs shorter • bigger vs smaller and many others.

The numbers-fractions themselves form, when assembled, a square with dimensions 40 x 40 cm, hence the digit 1 has dimensions 4 x 40 cm.
