Ray-Generating Optical Equipment Set

The set includes a thoughtfully designed instrument for producing rays and optical accessories for performing numerous experiments on reflections, refractions and colors. The instrument features a light source and a built-in lens and mirrors with adjustable angles, which allow parallel, convergent or divergent beams. It also includes guides in which filters, diaphragms and mirrors are placed. Two side mirrors mounted on hinges enable reflecting light from the side openings. Using various colored filters, two side beams can be moved forward and backward to overlap with and mix into the constant central beam. The effect is visible on a screen placed about 200 mm from the device. The collimated beam arriving at the front part of the instrument can be split into a narrow beam (for example to show spectra) or into one, three or four narrow, split beams by inserting the appropriate masking plate (diaphragms). These rays and beams can be colored by sliding colored filters into the front guides of the device.

The set also includes an optical accessories kit that reflects, refracts and colors light beams so that they can be measured and studied: 5 different prisms, 3 different lenses, 3 different mirrors, 2 double-sided diaphragms, 8 colored transparent filters and patterned sheets. Power supply: 12 V. Laboratories without a power supply can purchase one separately (power supply specifications: 3 A, 12 V).

The rich optical equipment and the completeness of the set enable a range of classic school experiments in optics, as well as in other fields related to optics. The manual contains (described and illustrated) more than 30 experiments covering topics such as: light rays, mirrors, multiple reflections, parallax, focal length, aberrations, reflective surfaces, lenses and their focal lengths, radii of curvature, color mixing, spherical magnification and shadows.
