The optical bench with full equipment consists of an anodized aluminum optical bench of 120 cm in length with a sliding scale of 100 cm on the side, mounting elements for optical components and other items essential for conducting all basic and advanced experiments, such as a platform, lens mounting clamps, a prism table, plates with holes and guides, a device for producing rays (with built-in mirrors on hinges, a lens, side and front guides and a light source) and a rich range of optical accessories, such as: plano‑convex, convex, concave and double convex lenses, diaphragms with narrow and wide apertures, flat and curved mirrors, color filters and color charts, a 3‑color mixing filter, a white screen, prisms at various angles, including prism blocks, slides with holes of various diameters, with letter F, with a scale and discs. In total 66 basic elements are listed below. The set does not include a power supply. Laboratories without a power supply can purchase one separately (power supply parameters: 3A, 12V).
The very rich optical equipment of the set and its completeness enable performing a number of classical optics experiments, as well as experiments in other fields related to optics. Thus, using the set we will demonstrably present concepts such as: shadow and penumbra, refraction of light in a prism, image and reflection of light in mirrors, convergence and divergence of lenses, focal points of converging lenses, but also myopia of the human eye and its correction. In general, the range of school experiments that can be carried out with the Optical Bench can be divided into 4 parts: reflections, refractions, colors, others.
In the manual there are (described and drawn) more than 30 experiments, covering, among others: light rays, mirrors, multiple reflections, parallax, focal length, aberrations, reflective surfaces, lenses and their focal lengths, radii of curvature, color mixing, spherical magnifications, shadows.
