Soil Sieves – Complete Set of 6 for Soil Separation

The 8‑piece set includes 6 sieves plus a container with a lid and is designed to separate soil components. Each sieve has a diameter of 10 cm and features different mesh openings. The sieves and the additional container can be stacked, covered with the lid, and easily sieved to separate and group the soil elements by size, helping determine the composition and type of the soil under study. The metal sieves are integrated into the bottoms of plastic cylindrical containers and have the following sieve numbers: 5, 10, 35, 60, 120, 230 and openings in mm: 3.35 / 1.70 / 0.43 / 0.25 / 0.13 / 0.071 mm.

This means that on the sieves you can separate gravel fractions (2), sand fractions (3) and dust fractions along with silt. On the consecutively arranged sieves (from number 5 at the top to number 230 at the bottom above the container) the grain fractions will remain, from the top to bottom: 4.00 / 2.00 / 0.50 / 0.25 / 0.13 / 0.075 mm.
