COLORS – Large Speaking Game Encouraging Speech in Polish, Ukrainian and English

The aim of the game is to encourage participants to speak, form sentences, and learn new words/terms, as well as practice new phrases, tenses, and expressions — depending on the chosen rules of the game, the players' age and proficiency level.

COLORS are familiar concepts and words widely known and used by everyone.

In the case of Polish language and players for whom Polish is the native language, the goal of the game is to encourage children to speak Polish in a relaxed, playful setting. Children focus on the color and constructing a logical sentence using the chosen color, rather than on the act of public speaking itself. This encourages speaking, expressing one's own opinion (for example In my opinion this color is suitable for...), In our opinion this color is suitable for..., Most of us think that this color is suitable for..., collaboration with the group (in team play) and practicing certain concepts assigned to players (e.g., color + nature; color + weather; color + clothing; color + food, ...).

In the case of a foreign language and players for whom this language is not their native language (this also applies to foreigners in Poland), the goal is to encourage players to speak and form sentences in the foreign language in a playful, relaxed setting, which reduces stress, and, as is known, facilitates using the foreign language in speech. Participants focus on the color and constructing a logical sentence using the chosen color, and less on the act of public speaking. Laughter and fun increase motivation, the desire to search for new words (dictionary game) and foster a competitive spirit.

The included instruction contains 3 versions of the game to choose from (each in Polish or English).

Contents

• FLOOR MAT measuring 150 x 150 cm with printed colorful fields and color names in Polish, Ukrainian and English (GB). The mat is rollable and washable, made of a plastic material and is coated with a special laminate – so you can jump and walk on it for years without deterioration in quality. The mat is large and highly visible to participants, and at the same time it can be rolled up for convenient storage.
• Standard six-sided die, with faces marked by dots from 1 to 6.
