Description

Fauna of Poland Wall Chart 90 x 130 cm

The chart features an outline of Poland with the main rivers and over 50 animal species (from a snail to the European bison), which, in addition to their names, are marked with color-coded indicators showing whether they are 1) commonly found in our country, 2) rarely found but present across the country, or 3) rarely found in only a few locations (including endemics).

The species shown on the chart are arranged on the outline of Poland's map as follows:

  • Rarely found species are placed at one of the example locations, for example the European bison, one of the locations in the Białowieża Forest, and the Bielak hare in the northeast part of Poland, found only there;
  • Common species are placed in the remaining area, randomly.

The board should encourage students to search for answers to questions such as: the reasons a species inhabits a given area now or historically; why a species that was once widespread is now rarely found; and what traits have allowed a species to expand and occur across the country.

The board is mounted on wooden slats and laminated.
Dimensions of the board: 90 x 130 cm.
