MACHINE TRANSLATION (not authorised yet)
A large, spatial (3D) model of the Ebola virus magnified about 100,000! Well visible unique shape and structure. The surface of the model shows a lipid membrane with glycoproteins. A section at one end of the model allows to see internal structures, main and smaller matrix proteins, polymerase protein and virus genetic material - RNA.
For the first time described in 1976, the Ebola virus is one of the most deadly viruses on Earth. After infection, patients develop severe haemorrhagic fever, which is 90% fatal. The name of the virus comes from the Ebola River in the northern part of the Congo, where the first cases of the disease caused by this virus were detected.
Model attached to the base.
