Flaplectroscope designed for experiments in electrostatics - detection and determination of electric charge. Vertical, metal rod has a metal leaf attached at the bottom and at the top it is finished with a flat plate electrode insulated from the housing. The electroscope has metal side walls, which are attached to the base and upper wall (both made of plastic). The front and rear walls are transparent (glass) and the front glass pane is retractable (upwards), which allows ionized materials to enter the electroscope. The angle of the metal leaf deflection depends on the charge that has flown from an electrically charged object, e.g. a carbonite stick rubbed with a piece of fur, applied to the disc electrode rod. This angle can be determined by means of a 6-stage angle scale placed inside the electroscope. The electroscope allows the connection of an earthing cable.
