The parapet is made of borosilicate glass and is used to demonstrate the chemical composition of water as a result of its electrolysis. It is supplied with two pairs of electrodes - platinum and carbon, so it contains separate electrodes for acidified water and for solutions containing e.g. chlorides or ammonia. Taps made of PTFE (trade name: Teflon). The whole is placed on a tripod (included; bar length 60 cm). For electrolysis, a DC power supply (min. 3A) and banana wires are required - they are not part of the Hoffman apparatus; if the laboratory does not have a power supply and wires - they can be purchased separately.
Component: Hoffman's apparatus made of borosilicate glass with PTFE faucets (trade name: Teflon); two platinum electrodes, two carbon electrodes; tripod (base + rod) with holders for mounting the Hoffman apparatus.
Two names are used: Hoffman or Hofmann.
