Tube for the demonstration of convection

Teaching aid in the shape of a curved rectangular glass tube with an inlet from above, by means of which the phenomenon of convection in liquids can be demonstrated in an impressive way. The experience consists in filling the immobilized tube with water, adding a colouring element (food dye, ink, potassium permanganate), heating one corner of the tube and observing how the water in the tube starts to circulate (convection), which is clearly visible through the movement of the coloured water in the tube. During a demonstration, it is best to hold the aid with a laboratory hand or hang it on a tripod (not included).
