(CD) The dictionary covers vocabulary in many fields close to the daily experience of man, such as medicine, economics or law, as well as expansive vocabulary that goes beyond the fields in which it is used, e.g. computer science, sport or popular music. The dictionary is based on a computer archive of texts of contemporary Polish language with a volume of over several dozen million words. It combines the best traditions of lexicography with the achievements of contemporary linguistics. It presents an insightful description of the meaning and use of words, although the definitions are written in ordinary, natural Polish. It contains a detailed description not only of the meaning, but also of the correct use of words, and examples are drawn from real texts.
