The set demonstrates—practically!—one of the latest technologies in bioenergy, namely powering devices with alcohol. In real devices this uses methanol; our model uses an ethanol solution with a concentration of 5% to 15%, but it also runs on beer or wine. The kit includes a fuel cell, cables, a propeller, a container for the ethanol fuel, and a measuring vessel; all components form a single unit with a very aesthetically pleasing plastic housing. The fuel cell generates electrical energy as a result of the chemical conversion of the ethanol solution into an acid solution (similar to vinegar) and drives the propeller. The device can operate continuously for days! Dimensions: 10.5 x 12 x 13 cm.
