Real specimens of Centipede and Millipede embedded in transparent block of acryl. These are representatives of invertebrate animals such as arthropods, Diplopoda and Chilopoda:

2 - Millipede
The block is wrapped in a bubble pocket and placed in a cardboard box. Dimensions of the teaching aid: 14 x 6.5 x 2 cm.
This learning device is is also very durable and let see the specimens from each side without a fear.
It is also very helpfull when teaching and learning about the differences between these two animals which are so commonly mixed. How do they differ, in fact? First, centipedes have one pair of legs per body segment, while millipedes have two pairs of legs per most of their body segments (these are double-legged segments). Also front antennae differ - centipedes have long ones, and millipedes short ones. Millipedes are detritivores or herbivorous, when centipedes are predators and that is why they have poisonous pincers at their heads to kill or at least immobilize a prey, as well as quick-moving legs to catch a prey. The lengths of the legs of both animals also differ (centipedes - long, millipedes - short). Last but not least - centipedes have back antennae. Now you will know!
