The "Biodegradation (J3)" educational kit is a less extensive version of the "Biodegradation (J)" kit. This teaching aid is designed to enable experiments on the biodegradability of different materials. The kit allows for a free, independent choice of substrate and materials to be tested. The kit itself contains samples of various materials (see composition), such as a biodegradable shopping bag, dog poop bag, cellulose film, starch filler, wheat bran dish, and strips of various metals. Thus, we can test the degree of biodegradability of the materials included in the kit, as well as materials from our immediate surroundings, including materials that we or our neighborhood throw away in the recycling bin.

The distinguishing feature of this kit is its content - all materials provided in the kit for testing are products available and distributed on the Polish market! So we are testing materials that are available in Poland.

The kit is carefully thought out. For example, realizing the limitations of conducting experiments outside of specialized laboratories, a composter that speeds up the process of composting waste in containers has been included in the set.

It is also possible to buy a complementary set containing the consumable parts of the set.

The kit, as a teaching aid, allows for practical discussion before or during class of such concepts as:

    biodegradation, biodegradability, biodegradable material,
    composting, compostable material
    disintegration, decomposition, degradation,
    renewability, recycling, recovery
    Biodegradable and bio-absorbable polymers
    Ecotoxicity of waste
    and others.

On one page the board presents pictures of different types of waste along with time sequences (weeks, months, tens of years, hundreds of years, thousands of years) in which the waste, thrown away without segregation, will biodegrade. Some of the pictures are accompanied by humorous comments on the consequences of not segregating this waste. The second page contains sample pictures of waste with the possibility of filling in the blanks with a dry erase marker.

The board is laminated on both sides, framed in metal strips with a hanger. Dimensions: 68x100 cm.

In addition, the board is accompanied by two review sheets for students at two different levels (easier and more difficult) in A4 format to be duplicated.
