The set, in addition to the electromagnet, includes a magnetic jumper, cables, an iron core and 2 simple magnets. It allows a number of experiments to be carried out, including demonstrating that the iron exhibits magnetic properties only when connected to a power source (4.5 V batteries, direct current; not included).
