Description
Large Set for Organic and Inorganic Chemistry – Educational Molecular Models
The set contains 212 elements made of colorful plastic (in the previous version: 192 elements) enabling the construction of a very wide range of chemical structures. The set includes models of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, phosphorus, halogens and metals - each element is represented by 1-5 types of models; for example, phosphorus is represented by three sphere models with 4, 5 and 3 openings and angles 109, 90 and 120 and 107, respectively. Bonds (including single covalent, double, triple, coordinate and ionic) are symbolized by 3 types of connectors. Additional elements are 3 types of pear-shaped leaves (total 18 pieces), which can represent lone pairs of electrons found in water and ammonia or characteristic bonds found in ethyne and benzene.
From the elements of the set you can build, among others: molecules (e.g., hydrogen, chlorine, oxygen, ozone, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, carbon - various allotropes), hydrides (e.g., sodium, magnesium, silicon and hydrogen chloride, ammonia, methane, water, hydrogen sulfide), chlorides and fluorides, metal oxides, non-metal oxides, acids, metal ions, organic compounds (e.g., benzene, glycerol, ethane, ethyne, acetone, ethanol, etc.). Built structures are large, and more importantly - clear and transparent.
Atoms have a diameter from 17 mm to 23 mm.
The set enables constructing organic molecules (with different functional groups) and inorganic ones, including: C2H2 (ethyne), CH3CH2OH (ethanol), CH3COOH (acetic acid), CH3COOCH3 (ethyl formate), CH3CHO (acetone), CH2OHCH2OH (ethylene glycol), H2NCH2COOH (glycine), CH3CHNH2COOH (alanine), C6H12O6 (glucose), H2NCH2CONHCHCH3COOH (Gly-Ala: produced as a result of condensation of glycine and alanine, forming a peptide bond HNCO), C6H12 (cyclohexane), H2SO4 (sulfuric acid), HClO4 (perchloric acid), H3PO4 (phosphoric acid), H2CO3 (carbonic acid), HCl (hydrochloric acid).
The set includes:
- Hydrogen atoms H, 14 pcs, diameter 15 mm,
- Carbon atoms C, 20 pcs, diameter 22 mm,
- Oxygen atoms O, 22 pcs, diameter 22 mm,
- Nitrogen atoms, 10 pcs, diameter 22 mm,

Inorganic compounds – every chemical compound that is not an organic compound does not contain carbon atoms. The exception are carbonates, bicarbonates, carbides, cyanides, hydrogen cyanide, nitric acid, etc.
Organic compounds – in contrast to inorganic compounds these are chemical compounds containing carbon. The simplest compounds are conventionally classified as inorganic.
