Fruit and vegetable powered clock ("fruit cell")! The wires visible on the picture are driven into two fruit/vegetables, which become part of the electrical circuit. The power supply to the clock is carried out on the same principle on which some modern batteries work, and on which the first cells combined into batteries worked (e.g. Leclanche or Volta cells). The set proves that electric current flows in circuits built by students, because there is a chemical reaction between metals and acids contained in fruits, vegetables, etc. The set includes: (1) a digital clock module in an oval plastic housing with two chambers for fruit or vegetables; (2) wires terminated with electrodes (zinc and copper).
