The kit allows you to perform and demonstrate a range of experiments in electrostatics. It contains, among others, 2 aluminium containers, nylon fibre, cores, polyethylene and acrylic strips, metal stand for insulating strips, material for collecting static charges, 50-mm electrophorus (an example of the simplest electrostatic machine) and a standard pad and 2 insulating plates made of polyethylene. The kit includes a leaf electroscope designed for experiments in electrostatics - detecting and determining electrical charge. The vertical metal rod has a metal leaf attached at the bottom and terminates at the top with a flat plate electrode insulated from the case. The electroscope has metal side walls that are attached to the base and top wall (both made of plastic). The front and back walls are transparent (glass), and the front window is extendable (upward) to allow ionized materials to be introduced into the electroscope. The angle of deflection of the metal leaf depends on the charge that has flowed from an electrically charged object applied to the plate electrode rod, such as an ebonite stick rubbed with a piece of fur. This angle can be determined using a 6-point angle scale located inside the electroscope. The electroscope enables connection of a grounding wire.
