Biodegradation – Experimental Set (J3) for classroom use

The educational kit Biodegradation (J3) is a less extensive version of the Biodegradation (J) kit. This teaching aid has been designed to enable conducting experiments on the biodegradability of various materials. The kit allows free, independent selection of substrates and testing materials. The kit itself contains samples of various materials (see composition), such as: biodegradable shopping bag, dog waste bag, cellulose film, starch filler, container with wheat bran, strips of various metals. Therefore, you can test the biodegradability of materials contained in the set, as well as materials from our immediate surroundings, including materials discarded by us or in our vicinity into the waste container.

A distinguishing feature of this set is its contents – all materials provided in the set are products that appear and are distributed on the Polish market! We test materials that are available in Poland.

The set is carefully designed. For example, aware of the limitations when conducting experiments outside specialized laboratories, a composter has been included with the set to speed up the composting process of waste in containers.

There is also the possibility of purchasing a refill set containing the consumable parts of the kit.

As a teaching aid, the kit allows practical discussion before or during didactic lessons of such concepts as:

• biodegradation, biodegradability, biodegradable material,
• composting, compostable material
• disintegration, decomposition, degradation,
• renewability, recycling, recovery
• biodegradable and bioabsorbable polymers
• ecotoxicity of waste
• and others.

1. Transparent test containers with lids having 2 ventilation openings – 3 pcs.
2. Caps for ventilation openings of the test container lids – 6 pcs.
3. U-shaped transparent frames for test containers – 3 pcs.
4. Handle for the U-shaped transparent frame – 3 pcs.
5. Clip-handle for the U-shaped transparent frame – 1 pc.
6. Base for the test container – 1 pc.
7. Mesh cage for the base of the test container – 1 pc.
8. Fine-point tweezers for transferring samples – 1 pc.
9. Biodegradable shopping bag – 1 pc.

The last item is a durable plastic carrying case with a handle for carrying and two compartments for placing kit components; waterproof and convenient.
