Description
MACHINE TRANSLATION (not authorised yet)
The Crookes radiometer consists of a windmill placed in a glass bubble and mounted on an axle in such a way as to produce virtually no mechanical resistance. The glass bubble is filled with air at a greatly reduced pressure. The radiometer is set in motion by sunlight or light from a bulb. The brighter the light, the faster it spins. Rotation of the pinwheel is caused by the difference in heating of the light and dark surface due to absorption of radiation. Great teaching aid, presenting the conversion of light radiation energy (heat energy) into kinetic energy of the moving rotor of the radiometer.
